Twinkle, Twinkle, Succulent Stars by oneofacard Twinkle, Twinkle, Succulent Stars by oneofacard

Observed in a neighbor's planter box. I've been watching all these grow, reach maturity, and bloom in their respective seasons. I'm pretty sure that this one is a 'ghost plant' or Graptopetalum.

Oh, OK, not as old as I was thinking you may be then! I suppose by 17 I did know something about plants - probably not half as much as I thought did though!

I was a whiz kid, skipped half of third and fifth grades in grammar school, then later finished college in 2 1/2 years. Then my migraines and seizures started wiping out brain cells LOL

Bumma Michael! Is that epilepsy seizures? Migraines I get, really mess around with my eyes and stomach and leave my head and neck bad for days. Never had to put up with seizures though thankfully!

Migraines...yuk! Drs. could never figure the trigger. They started when I was around 12 and I would get one every 10 days or so, not seemed to be related to sleep or diet. (Maybe the moon?) I would get the full range of add-on's, blinding vision, numbing feeling in fingers which would spread to half of my body then recede the same way, and then the actual headache. That would take about an hour. The only way to end it was to wait for all that and finally get to sleep for awhile. Usually when I woke up it would be better. No meds ever worked.
When I got my first epileptic seizure (on 8/8/88 LOL), the meds that I started taking for epilepsy ended my bout with migraines. I still have a major seizure every 2 years or so, and minor ones 3 or 4 times a week. I am on a new med that seems to be working better, but is wreaking havoc with my sex drive. Even my 83 year old boyfriend is like a young puppy compared to me, lately...:D

Great shot! I've always called those plants sempervivum, they last a really long time in arrangements :)

Thanks Kar, semperviviums are similar, the leaves are more pointed at the tips and often with ridges along the sides.
Both are long lasting because they're succulents. :)
