I'm heading into my fifth year here at dA (or DA) and it seems to have gone in a flash. I've made many friends, just one or two enemies, and many 'fly bys' who seem to have a time problem of their own.
I've found less and less time to submit work to groups, but almost always accept requests.

There are countless great artists out there and I continue to fave works that I feel show merit, (often because of title/idea), tickle my fancy, or just to thank artists in response to their fave of my work.
The results have produced a Favorites gallery that is somewhat eclectic, with a touch of humor. Please visit the individual artists if you see anything you like.

Which brings me to this...

I know we're all doing our own thing here and that is as it should be. I still believe in a fave for fave, llama for llama.
I grew up in a different era, learning about all types of art, and so can appreciate just about anything.
What's a big turn-off to me is when I receive a thank you message that is just a wordy advertisement to come to that artist's site. If the artist really wanted me there, they'd have faved something of mine.
DA has made it really easy with their phone pad 'more from' sample system when viewing an image.
Don't see anything, that's okay too!
The other big turn-off is that ugly dA watermark...if I see it on an image, even if I like the image, I will more than likely pass it by and not fave it. If you are that concerned about art theft, others are available or a simple watermark of your own design is easy to do.
I know that, in kind, what turns many of you off is my use of icons, avatars and the like instead of typed out 'thank you' and 'welcome' messages...again due to lack of time.

I do really appreciate your faves and show my appreciation by visiting your gallery and returning them. :)

Please don't post routine 'Thank you' messages for the faves...

especially after we get to know each could be creating more of your fantastic works with the time involved.

Thanks for the fav on 131 - A Blue Pen and Too Much Time on Her Hands...

Clearly, she needs a hobby. The thing is, finding the right one can be a challenge. Sure, you’ve got your traditional go to activities, like tiddly winks with manhole covers, or underwater basket weaving, or maybe even something a bit more adventurous, like high impact reading. Which, for the uninitiated, is a late night activity, which involves two or more people lying in a bed, pushing themselves to the point of exhaustion. Each person reads the heaviest book they can find and the first one to get smacked in the face loses. It really adds a level of tension to the reading experience when at any moment you risk a head injury if you don’t stay awake. But reading isn’t for everyone. For those who prefer a more relaxing way to waste your time, I recommend snipe hunting. Now I know what you’re going to say, “animals are people too”, and “hunting is wrong”, and “why is my left buttock always numb?” Well, let me reassure you. Snipe hunting has all the frustration in inhospitable conditions without all the excitement and exhilaration of ever actually killing something. It’s win/win.
